This position will facilitate support groups for victims. The Counselor/Advocate is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of overall agency activities. This position is full-time, with primarily daytime and early evening hours. This position participates in on-call duties.

VISITATION Monitor

The Visitation Monitor is responsible for providing a safe, secure environment, physically and emotionally, for children by supervising visits and custody exchanges with a non-custodial parent at the Fairl Family Justice Center. The Visitation Monitor is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of overall agency activities. The position is part-time. The schedule varies and will include evening and weekend hours.

Union county legal advocate

The Union County Legal Advocate specializes in legal advocacy services, acts as an agency resource person on legal issues, provides systems advocacy and direct services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other serious crimes in Union County. This position will offer support to Legal Advocates in Snyder and Northumberland Counties to provide legal advocacy services to victims. The Union County Legal Advocate is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of overall agency activities. This position is full-time with primarily daytime and early evening hours. This position participates in on-call duties.

The Campus Counselor/Advocate is responsible for providing client-centered, trauma-informed services to local college and university students who have experienced sexual assault or dating violence. This position will primarily provide direct services to students at Susquehanna University; however, other colleges/universities may request support from this position as well. The Campus Counselor/Advocate is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law. Responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment and knowledge of overall agency activities. This position is full-time with primarily daytime and early evening hours. This position participates in on-call duties.

Northumberland county safe house manager

Family Using a Tablet

The Northumberland County Safe House Manager provides direct services to primary and secondary child, adolescent, and adult victims and survivors in the safe house. This position provides counseling, on a one-to-one basis, through group facilitation, or via the hotline, to empower individuals and to strengthen families. The Northumberland County Safe House Manager oversees the maintenance of the safe house facility in Northumberland County. Position requires participation in the on-call schedule and requires a great deal of local travel.  The Northumberland County Safe House Manager is a mandated reporter of suspected child abuse as defined by PA Child Protective Services Law. This position is full-time with primarily daytime hours but may include some evenings and weekends.

medical advocate

The Medical Advocate is primarily responsible for the coordination of the agency’s Medical Advocacy Program. The Medical Advocate encourages and supports collaborative efforts between the victim services and health care communities to improve the response of health care providers to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. The Medical Advocate also enhances health promotion and violence prevention strategies, capacities, and mechanisms among healthcare providers and in healthcare locations. This broad mandate breaks down into three primary areas of responsibility: (i) facilitating and disseminating presentations and educational materials to medical professionals, (ii) providing technical assistance to medical professionals, and (iii) advocating for systems change.
