Verb. The key word in most sentences. The word that reveals what is happening.

And what is happening? Whether it's bullying or dating violence, harassment or forced gender roles, a lot of literature today is reflecting pretty accurately what's going on in real life. In our own homes, in our own schools, in our own relationships.

Each month, we'll discuss a different novel, focusing on how the social constructs imposed by society affect the book's characters...and how it affects us too.

By revealing what is really happening, we will be able to identify problems, offer solutions, and hopefully create a better place to live, learn, and work.

And, hey, who doesn't like a good book, right?
